The Roman Baths are situated in the English city of Bath. The site was first built by the Celts but later taken over by the Romans.

A visit to the Roman Baths will include:

• The Terrace, overlooking the baths (see right)

• The Sacred Spring was believed to be a creation of the Gods

• Objects from the Spring. During this ancient period, offerings such as coins or pottery were thrown into the Spring. See these exhibited here.

• The Temple of Bath is one of only two classical temples to exist in Britain

• The Temple Courtyard was the sacred area surrounding the temple. Worshippers gathered to pray here sacrifices were made at the Great Altar.

• People of Aquae Sulis is a collection of original Roman artifacts

• The Spring Overflow showcases the genius of the Roman engineers

• The Great Bath (see right) was one of the biggest baths of it's kind in Britain

• The East Baths is an exhibit on how the baths were used

• The West Baths is an exhibit showing how the baths were heated
